Political rhetoric about jobs
The New York Times published a brief roundup of the jobs rhetoric of the candidates. To absolutely no one’s surprise, the candidates are spinning the misery for their own benefits.
With the attention has come an escalating battle between the parties to define the terms of the debate and the numbers used in it. To no one’s surprise, that battle includes some hyperbole.
Some say three million jobs lost, some say zero; all I know is that I watch my own jobs database pretty closely, and the jobs fairy hasn’t quite shown up yet.
