Lucy is demanding the big toys
You had to imagine that this was coming. Lucy has had enough of playing only on the little climber and swinging only in the toddler swing. If Sadie can play on the big-girl apparatus, then, dammit, she can too.
I’m not sure she’s really figured out how much of a challenge climbing the ladder to the clubhouse is really going to pose her, though. You’d be surprised what you can accomplish through sheer force of will and hard-headedness.
The payoff at the top was totally worth it, though. She got to ring the bell, spin the steering wheel, and, most importantly, go down the BIG slide.
After that, it was on to the big swings. These require a little more coordination, but after a couple of falls, she has grasped the meaning of “hang on.”
Next spring, Lucy will be all over the swingset. No more toddler for us.
